Cawston students are collecting gloves and socks for our valley's homeless veterans until next Friday, Nov. 21st. Thanks for supporting our local heroes. Socks may not seem like much, but the warmth they provide will make a lot of difference in the lives of our brave men and women this winter.

Cawston is celebrating Red Ribbon Week next week, October 20-24th, with the following activities:

Monday - Kick off Red Ribbon Week by wearing red
Tuesday - Team Up Against Drugs by wearing your favorite sports shirt
Wednesday - Turn your back on Drugs by wearing a piece of clothing backward
Thursday - Sock it to Drugs by wearing your favorite crazy socks

Cawston Comets say NO TO DRUGS!! Show your school spirit by participating in these activities!

Parent conference week is October 20th - 24th. First to fifth grade students are on minimum day schedule Monday - Thursday, with dismissal at 12:35 pm and all kindergarten students will go to AM session. Friday is a non-student day for all students.

Wednesday, Oct. 8 is International Walk to School Day! Highway Patrol and our amazing PTA will be in front of school greeting our kiddos as they arrive. Students will get a ticket for walking to school. Our PTA will conduct drawings for prizes! Please join us in International Walk to School Day.

This Friday is Cawston's Spirit Day! The theme is 80's Neon Day! Show your school spirit by dressing up like the 80's or with neon colors. Students can also wear school colors (blue and yellow) to show their CAWSTON spirit! We can't wait to see our ROCKIN' Comets!

The Cawston family is sad to say goodbye to one of our teachers, Mrs. Benson. She will be deeply missed by both her students present and past and all of the Cawston staff. We wish her the best on her next adventure in teaching and hope she will never forget us. Good luck and we will MISS you Mrs. Benson!

Cawston's first Saturday School for this school year is coming up soon. It is next, Saturday, September 20th from 8-12 noon. Permission slips to attend Saturday School went home with students who had a school day to make-up. See you soon at Saturday School!

PTA is putting together the school's emergency packs. These consists of snacks and water for students in case of an emergency. Parent donations will help offset the cost of putting together these emergency packs for the students. All donations are due by this Friday, September 12th. Your support is very much appreciated!

1st and 4th - a box of granola bars with NO nuts
2nd and 3rd - a case of water

Friday, September 5th is Cawston's first Spirit Day of the new year. The theme is Patriot Day. Show your Cawston PRIDE by wearing red, white, or blue!

Cawston's annual PTA fundraiser went home with students. All money and order forms are due by Thursday, September 11th. Please support our school and remember no door to door selling. You may also order online using our group ID: CAW77 and your student's Seller ID.
