Tahquitz High School Summit

Tahquitz High School is having a K-12 Parent Student Summit on Saturday, April 11, 2015, from 8 am - 12 pm. It will be held in the THS Theater and is limited to the first 200 people. There is a FREE gift for the first 100 families who attend. The focus of the summit will be how to create a home environment that is positively focused around a family mission statement, creating legacy of expectations academically and behavioral excellence, and Cyber bullying: Protecting our kids in the virtual world!

Amazing Talent Show

Students in grades 3-5 will begin SBAC/CAASPP testing on Monday, April 13th. Students will have the opportunity to show what they have learned this year. The test involves a variety of different types of questions including multiple choice, open ended responses that will be typed in, rearranging sentences to place them in the correct order, and listening to audio recordings to disseminate information. They will also be required to complete tasks in both language arts and math based on classroom activities that have been taught to them. Attached is the anticipated parent letter you will receive. Please encourage your student to try their best on all of these tests, to get a good night's rest, and eat a healthy breakfast.

Talent Show Auditions

Cawston's 11th Annual Talent Show is right around the corner! Auditions will be on Thursday, February 26th in the MPR. Students who wish to tryout need to bring a completed and signed permission slip to the MPR. Students may get a permission slip from their teacher. We can't wait to see ALL of our Comet talent!!

Congratulations to Mr. Watland & Mrs. Naasz

A BIG congratulations to Mr. Watland for being named Cawston's Teacher of the Year for the 2014-2015 school year. Not only is he an excellent teacher, but he is heavily involved within our school. He is both our Spelling Bee and Science Fair coordinator.

Likewise, a BIG congratulations to Mrs. Naasz as being named as Cawston's Classified Employee of the Year. Mrs. Naasz has touched so many student's lives as an instructional aide.

Warm Hands from Warm Hearts Campaign

Cawston students are collecting gloves and socks for our valley's homeless veterans until next Friday, Nov. 21st. Thanks for supporting our local heroes. Socks may not seem like much, but the warmth they provide will make a lot of difference in the lives of our brave men and women this winter.

Red Ribbon Week

Cawston is celebrating Red Ribbon Week next week, October 20-24th, with the following activities:

Monday - Kick off Red Ribbon Week by wearing red
Tuesday - Team Up Against Drugs by wearing your favorite sports shirt
Wednesday - Turn your back on Drugs by wearing a piece of clothing backward
Thursday - Sock it to Drugs by wearing your favorite crazy socks

Parent Conference Week

Parent conference week is October 20th - 24th. First to fifth grade students are on minimum day schedule Monday - Thursday, with dismissal at 12:35 pm and all kindergarten students will go to AM session. Friday is a non-student day for all students.

International Walk to School Day!

Wednesday, Oct. 8 is International Walk to School Day! Highway Patrol and our amazing PTA will be in front of school greeting our kiddos as they arrive. Students will get a ticket for walking to school. Our PTA will conduct drawings for prizes! Please join us in International Walk to School Day.
