Hemet Unified School District was proud to host its 47th Annual Spelling Bee, a celebration of academic prowess and linguistic mastery among its talented students. Held at the District Office on Thursday, February 6, 2025, the event drew participants from 20 schools across the district, each showcasing their dedication to spelling accuracy and language skills.
The competition featured 13 rounds of intense spelling challenges, where contestants tackled words ranging from the commonplace to the delightfully obscure. Students demonstrated not only their ability to spell but also their poise under pressure and love for learning.
After a series of captivating rounds, Giovanni Luque, a 5th grade student from Cawston Elementary School, emerged victorious, securing the coveted title of Spelling Bee Champion with his precise spelling of the winning word, ‘casserole.’
Second place went to Esteban Castro, 6th grade student from Rancho Viejo Middle School and third place went to Erini Mina, 4th grade student from Bautista Creek Elementary School.
